Safety

Safety first. Always.

Dating should be fun, never scary. Here's what we do — and what you can do — to keep MeetDating safe for everyone.

How we keep MeetDating safe

Identity verification

Every account is verified at signup with selfie-matching. Verified accounts get a badge.

Secure messaging

Messages are encrypted in transit and at rest. Never shared with third parties.

One-tap reporting

Block or report any user in a single tap. Our team reviews every report within 24 hours.

Date check-ins

Tell us about your date, share your location with a trusted contact, and we'll check on you.

Privacy controls

Hide from contacts, block specific phone numbers, and decide who can see your profile.

Human moderation

Real people reviewing real reports. Plus automated content checks for photos and messages.

Community guidelines

MeetDating is built for adults having a good time. To keep the platform safe and welcoming, all members agree to follow these rules. Violations can lead to warnings, account suspension, or permanent ban — depending on severity. Repeat or serious violations end with no warning.

You must be 18 or older.

MeetDating is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. Misrepresenting your age, attempting to access the platform as a minor, or contacting anyone you suspect is under 18 results in immediate permanent ban and may be referred to law enforcement.

Be honest about who you are.

Use your real photos, your real age, and your real intentions. Catfishing — pretending to be someone you're not, or using AI-generated or stolen photos — is grounds for permanent ban.

Treat people with respect.

Harassment, hate speech, threats, or abuse — whether based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, body type, or any other characteristic — is not tolerated.

No illegal content or activity.

This includes but is not limited to: prostitution or solicitation, human trafficking, drug sales, weapons sales, content involving minors, non-consensual content, or any activity prohibited by applicable law.

Consent is non-negotiable.

Pressuring someone for photos, contact, in-person meetings, or sexual activity is grounds for removal. No means no. Silence is not a yes. Past consent is not future consent.

No nudity in profile photos.

Profile photos must be SFW. What you share privately with consenting matches via secure messaging is between adults — but profile-level content is age-mixed (verification, support, moderation) and stays clothed.

No scams, spam, or solicitation.

Don't ask matches for money, gift cards, crypto, or financial help. Don't promote external businesses, OnlyFans, or other platforms. Don't run schemes.

No accounts for businesses, brands, or third parties.

MeetDating is for individual adults representing themselves. Couples accounts are allowed (and encouraged) on the polyamory/non-monogamy side, but each individual must verify separately.

Safety tips for dating

Before the date

  • Chat in the app first. Don't move to private channels until you've vetted them.
  • Video chat before meeting in person — confirm they look like their photos.
  • Share your date plan with a friend, including who you're meeting and where.
  • Reverse-image-search profile photos if something feels off.
  • If they refuse to verify or video chat, that's your answer.

During the date

  • Meet in a public place — coffee shop, restaurant, busy bar.
  • Drive yourself, or take your own ride-share. Never get in their car for the first meeting.
  • Watch your drink. Order your own and keep an eye on it.
  • Use the in-app date check-in so we (and a friend) know you're OK.
  • Trust your gut. If something feels wrong, leave. You don't owe anyone an explanation.

After the date

  • Confirm with your friend that you're home safe.
  • Block and report anyone who behaved badly — even if you didn't catch it during the date.
  • Take your time deciding what comes next. There's no rush.

If something happens

If you're in immediate danger: contact local emergency services. In the US that's 911. UK 999. EU 112. We do not replace emergency services — please call them first, then report to us.

For sexual assault support:

To report someone on MeetDating: use the in-app Report option on their profile or chat, or email safety@meetdating.app with details. We review every report within 24 hours and will work with law enforcement where appropriate.

What happens when you report

  1. The reported account is flagged in our moderation queue.
  2. A human moderator reviews the account, your report, and any related context (chat history, prior reports).
  3. We take action — warning, temporary suspension, or permanent ban — based on severity and history.
  4. We never tell the reported user who reported them.
  5. You'll receive an update when the review is complete (where appropriate; for serious cases, we may not share details to protect ongoing investigations).
