Terms of Service

Draft for counsel review. These Terms are a working draft based on common dating-app patterns. Have them reviewed and tailored by qualified legal counsel — particularly the arbitration, liability, governing-law, and consumer-protection sections, which vary significantly by jurisdiction — before production launch.

Welcome to MeetDating. These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and MeetDating ("MeetDating", "we", "us", "our") and govern your access to and use of our website at meetdating.app and any related apps, features, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use MeetDating. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are 18 years of age or older.
  • You can form a legally binding contract with MeetDating.
  • You are not located in a jurisdiction where use of the Service is prohibited.
  • You have not previously been suspended or removed from the Service.
  • You are not a convicted sex offender (where local law permits us to require this).

2. Your account

To use most features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and current information.
  • Use your real name, real age, and real photos.
  • Keep your login credentials secure and confidential.
  • Be responsible for all activity under your account.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access at security@meetdating.app.

You may only maintain one account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. License to use the Service

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, MeetDating grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use only.

4. User content

"User Content" means anything you submit, post, or share through the Service — photos, profile information, messages, audio, video, and other materials. You retain ownership of your User Content.

You grant MeetDating a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to host, store, copy, modify, create derivative works of, distribute, publicly perform, and publicly display your User Content for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving the Service. This license ends when you delete the User Content or your account, except where retention is required by law or to enforce these Terms.

You represent that you have all rights necessary to grant this license, and that your User Content does not infringe any third-party rights or violate any applicable law.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service if you are under 18.
  • Impersonate anyone or misrepresent your identity.
  • Use someone else's photos or AI-generated photos that misrepresent your appearance.
  • Harass, threaten, bully, or abuse other users.
  • Post hate speech or discriminatory content.
  • Solicit money, gifts, or financial information from other users.
  • Use the Service for commercial purposes — including escort services, sex work, or promotion of external businesses or content platforms.
  • Post sexually explicit content in your profile.
  • Share content that depicts or promotes violence, illegal activity, or anything involving minors.
  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access the Service.
  • Attempt to circumvent security measures or rate limits.
  • Resell, sublicense, or transfer your account.

See our Community Guidelines for the complete list of prohibited behavior. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban, and may be reported to law enforcement.

6. Subscriptions and payments

MeetDating offers optional paid features and subscriptions. By purchasing a subscription:

  • You authorize us (or our payment processor) to charge the payment method on file.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • You can cancel any time in your account settings or, for in-app purchases, through the App Store or Google Play.
  • Refunds are governed by the policies of the platform you purchased through (App Store, Google Play, or our web payment provider), and by applicable consumer-protection law.

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access for any reason, including violation of these Terms, suspected fraud, or risk to other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, indemnification, disclaimers, limitations of liability, dispute resolution) will continue to apply.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

MeetDating is a platform for adults to meet other adults. We do not conduct criminal background checks, and we do not vet every user beyond identity verification. You are responsible for your own interactions and safety, both online and offline. Use good judgment.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MEETDATING AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU IN ANY MATTER WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In those places, our liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold MeetDating and its affiliates harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

11. Dispute resolution

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be governed by [GOVERNING LAW — to be set by counsel based on your operating jurisdiction]. The parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal claims.

[Arbitration / class-action waiver / venue clauses to be drafted by counsel based on jurisdiction. Enforceability of arbitration varies significantly by region — e.g., EU consumer-protection rules limit arbitration clauses materially.]

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
